You're not calling about a stuck door. You're calling because the door you have has been fought with for a few years now - a panel that's rusted through at the bottom, a track that's bent from being forced, an opener straining against a door that's heavier than it used to be from swelling and warping. In a lot of Fenton houses this isn't one bad part, it's the whole assembly reaching the end of its run at the same time. The steel has fatigued, the wood core (if it has one) has taken on moisture for decades, and the hardware underneath is the original 1970s stuff nobody stocks new parts for anymore. When we get called out for "the door won't open right," more often than we'd like, the honest answer is that the door itself is done, not just one spring or roller. That's a different job than a repair, and it's worth knowing which one you actually need before we show up.
